Organizes workflow, oversees day to day operations, and manages personnel, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient functioning , quality services, and cost effectiveness of areas. The Supervisor functions in a “hands on’ capacity and is expected to possess a working knowledge of all equipment, processes and exams and performs the duties of a staff technologists when needed. The Supervisor will fulfill the role of Technical Director as defined by the IAC and assumes the leadership role in obtaining and maintaining accreditation in Vascular Testing. Works independently and collaboratively under the direction of the Senior Director of Medical Imaging and the Medical Director of Medical Imaging and Medical Director of the Vascular Lab to ensure quality patient care and team member compliance with both ACR, IAC and organizational standards. Must possess proficiency in computer skills -Prior Experience with EPIC EMR preferred and McKesson Radiology PACS.
Education and Training: Successful completion of a diagnostic accredited sonography program in either General Sonography with a vascular concentration by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
BLS required. Associates degree required. Bachelor Degree in natural sciences or health care related field preferred.
Certification Requirements: BOTH
ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) Required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT ) in Sonography: Preferred AND
RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist (ARRT)
Minimum of 5 years progressive technical experience to include 3 years of supervisory experience required;
General Ultrasound AND Vascular ultrasound in an acute care setting required.
Experience with IAC Vascular accreditation preferred.
