If you have an infant or young children, or you regularly transport them, then you need a car seat safety check! In Maryland, 75 percent of car seats are incorrectly installed. Peninsula Regional Medical Center and the Salisbury City Fire Department want to make sure all children are riding safely. They’re sponsoring a FREE car seat safety check on May 25, 2017, from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. at the Salisbury City Fire Department, 325 Cypress Street, Salisbury, MD 21801. No appointment necessary!
Along with making sure your seat is installed correctly, you can find answers to questions such as: “When is it safe to turn my child forward facing?” “How long does my child need to be in a seat with a harness?” “When is it safe for my child to stop using a booster seat?”
Certified child passenger safety technicians will complete a checklist and teach you how to install and use your car seat correctly. It will take approximately 45 minutes per car seat. Please pre-install the seat(s) to the best of your ability and bring both car seat and vehicle owner’s manuals.
