Bruce Ritchie, Chief Financial Officer of Peninsula Regional Health System, is happy to announce the promotions of Finance Division employees Mickey Griffin, Director of Patient Financial Services (PFS); Jon Mitchell, Director of Budget, Cost, and Reimbursement; and Jim Gregory, Director of Accounting. All three have been promoted to the position of Executive Director effective July 1. The complexity of the health system's financial operations has grown significantly over time, and their responsibilities have increased with that growth.
Mickey Griffin joined Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) in 2014 as Director of PFS with responsibility for hospital registration, scheduling, billing, collections and physician billing and collections. She was a significant part of the Epic electronic medical record conversion where she led the revenue cycle implementation.
Prior to joining PRMC, Griffin was Director of PFS at Atlantic General Hospital for a number of years and before that led patient accounting operations at other Maryland hospitals. Overall, she has over 40 years of patient financial services experience. Griffin has an MBA and holds certification as Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and a Certified Revenue Cycle Executive (CRCE). Under her leadership, PRMC has consistently ranked high versus revenue cycle benchmarks, and since conversion to the Epic system has been ranked in the Top 5 of EPIC hospitals nationwide for revenue cycle performance.
Jon Mitchell joined PRMC in 1995 in budget, cost and reimbursement in Finance, and was promoted to Director in 2007. He has been instrumental in leading PRMC through many state rate methodology changes, and plays the key role in the health system's annual budget setting process. Prior to joining PRMC, Mitchell gained experience in Pennsylvania in hospital reimbursement. He has an MBA and over 30 years' experience in budget, cost & reimbursement. He participates at the state level on several reimbursement task forces.
Jim Gregory joined PRMC in 2007 as Director of Accounting with responsibility for financial reporting, treasury, tax and disbursements for the health system. He leads the annual external financial audit where PRMC performs in the top tier for quality and meeting accounting standards. Prior to joining PRMC, Gregory led the financial operation functions at several for-profit companies in this area, which included international business activities. He has an MBA and over 30 years' experience in Accounting. Gregory is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and recently achieved his Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC).
