Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute will be offering free Women’s Heart Program screening assessments on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Appointments are required. All screenings will be performed by Peninsula Regional medical professionals inside the Wagner Wellness Van, located in the parking lot of Peninsula Regional’s Maintenance Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation & Preventive Cardiology Program office (in the Berlin Shopping Center located at the intersection of Routes 50 and 346 in Berlin, Maryland).
The Women’s Heart Program offers cholesterol and HDL test, ankle/brachial index, resting 12-lead EKG, coronary risk profile, body fat measurement, body mass index, waist to hip ratio, blood pressure and pulse oximetry testing, a review of current medications, a risk factor analysis, exercise and nutrition suggestions and a follow-up care plan. Appointments and an 8-hour fast are required. The free tests are funded through the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation’s Love Your Heart Luncheon, coming up on November 12.
