On January 15th, Helen Beauchamp, BSRC, RRT was recognized by the Maryland/District of Columbia Society for Respiratory Care as Respiratory Educator of the Year 2015. Helen is known by many as an exceptional clinician and educator, and this recognition is very well deserved. Helen received two nominations from PRMC staff; one nomination is below.
Helen Beauchamp is a Senior Therapist and educator at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury Maryland. She is a graduate of Salisbury University and has been employed at PRMC since September 1994. She has been a major contributor and participant in the Partners Conference at Salisbury University, sponsored by the university and Peninsula Regional Medical Center. She is our department and Patient Care Services educator for any and all things associated with respiratory care. Helen organizes and provides education on any new equipment or procedures that are introduced to our department. She recently formed an education committee and leads a team of five employees that help her with the education of the therapists in our department and professionals of other departments at PRMC. She manages our new employee orientation, our quarterly skills days and still manages the staff evaluations, one to ones and all other issues associated with the staff that report to her. Helen is our department representative for many committees including our patient and employee satisfaction team and the build and education associated with our new electronic medical record. She does all of this without really thinking that she is doing more than what anyone else would do. She, without a doubt, is a key member of our team and the contributions she makes to our medical center are priceless. Please consider this remarkable employee for educator of the year; she truly is incredible.
