The Junior Auxiliary Board of Peninsula Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, presented two Delmarva nursing students with scholarships worth $1,000 each to further their education.
Scholarship awardee Tiana Goslee-Satchell is a certified nursing assistant at Peninsula Regional Medical Center who is pursuing her nursing degree at Sojourner Douglass College. She was inspired to work in healthcare after a severe bout of pneumonia landed her in Peninsula Regional’s Intensive Care Unit, where she was impressed by the care, compassion and skill shown by her nurses and was moved to become part of their world.
Scholarship recipient Brittany Cannon attends Wor-Wic Community College and is the first-ever Junior Board employee to win the scholarship. She hopes to one day become a Labor & Delivery nurse.
The Junior Board welcomes the chance to help these deserving students to pursue careers in nursing that will help improve the care and health of our community.
