A Salisbury University student recently completed this documentary on a Salisbury man living with ALS, and how he has coped with his diagnosis. People on Delmarva don't have to face this disease alone -- Peninsula Regional Medical Center holds a monthly ALS clinic the first Thursday of every month that brings together an expert, multidisciplinary health care team, including speech therapist Sherry Singer, who appears in the documentary. Visit PRMC's ALS resource page here.
Also at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, support group meetings are held on the second Friday of every month for people with ALS and their caregivers. Call 410-543-7069 for more information about the clinic and the support group.
Salisbury's first-ever Walk to Defeat ALS will be kicking off on September 29 - click here to register as a walker, donate, or to learn more about the walk and about ALS.
