A new piano is adding ambiance to the lobby of Peninsula Regional Medical Center's Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute. The funding for the Roland electronic baby grand was donated to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation by orthodontist Dr. Al Beattie and his wife Ruth, a 25-year Plus Volunteer at the Medical Center. The Beatties chose to make their donation to the Foundation after they visited a niece with terminal cancer in a St. Louis hospital that had a piano. They found it to be a soothing respite from a clinical atmosphere. Visitors, patients and staff alike can enjoy the player piano, which is located in the lobby not far from the Junior Board.
