Visitation Changes at Chesapeake Cove and Tawes Nursing Home
Posted on March 10, 2020
Out of an abundance of caution, and to better ensure the health and safety of visitors, residents and staff, Peninsula Regional Health System and the McCready Foundation, Inc. announce an immediate change in the visitation policy at both the Tawes Nursing Home and Chesapeake Cove Assisted Living in Crisfield.
Visitation will be restricted to one person, per visit, per resident at either facility, and limited only to those above the age of 18. All people visiting will be screened upon entry at the reception desk for cold, flu-like or respiratory symptoms, and asked a series of questions about international travel, recent contact with others who have been ill and if they are employed at a healthcare facility.
“With the traditional flu season active on the Delmarva Peninsula, and many of our residents at an age most vulnerable to COVID-19, we’re asking members of our community to please remember the important role they play in protecting both residents, staff and other visitors from contracting or spreading any virus,” said Kathleen Harrison, President of the McCready Foundation, Inc. “If you don’t feel well, please don’t visit.”
The change in visitation at both Chesapeake Cove and the Tawes Nursing Home will be the standard for the foreseeable future. Visitors to either facility in Crisfield should plan accordingly.
